This disc is not in HD. I bought this to enjoy over the holiday with the family and it is not as advertised. I started up the movie just fine and then once you get the movie going it looks disproportionate. Does not even fit to the screen right. I thought it may have been my Blu-ray Player but after careful troubleshooting it was not. I have no idea why they would make this product and it be a total disappointment. I was really looking forward to using this.

The picture in this video isn’t even as clear as regular DVDs. This was definitely NOT filmed in high definition. Most of the music is nice, but I didn’t buy the disk for the music, I bought it for the supposed HD fire. I’m very disappointed in this video.

This Blu-Ray only has HD menus, all four of the fireplace videos are the original LOW Definition. The biggest challenge is that the original DVD video was reformatted to 1080i (without being upconverted). This means that upconversion DVD and Blu-Ray players ignore the upconversion process because they think the video is already 1080i. That means you’ll be looking at a 480 picture the entire time and it is pretty ugly. I contacted First Look Studios, Inc. (The manufacturer and distributor of the disc) and they said that they did not author the disc, but they are aware of the challenge and are receiving quite a few complaints by telephone. They offerred me no solution over the phone, except a “We’re Sorry”. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM. Never has there been more fals advertising on a Blu-Ray disc that I have seen.

I love Christmas scenes and yule log dvds and blurays. I thought this would be no exception. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed with the picture quality of the yule log fire. As the fire begins, you can clearly see a blocky almost pixelized area of where the fire meets the log. Very distracting and it persists for a while. I guess I shouldn’t be so picky, but other bargain blu rays look great like Winter Wonderland ( http://www. amazon. com/Winter-Wonderland-Blu-ray-Various-Artists/dp/B001E4434U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1255563901&sr=1-1 ) and one of my favs Christmas Memories ( http://www. amazon. com/Christmas-Memories-Blu-ray-Various-Artists/dp/B001E4434K/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b ).
While it’s hard to go wrong for $[. . . ], you can surely do better with either of the other two mentioned.
Details: Four soundtracks to choose from, Christmas with the Starlite Orchestra and Choir (pretty good), 101 Strings Orchestra (my fav of the bunch), Crackling fire sounds or A Country Christmas (least liked).
