Department 56 Dickens Village The Coffee Stall Set of 2
Throughout London in Dickens’ time, two wheel springbarrow coffee-stalls were a familiar sight along public thoroughfares and cobblestone streets leading to the markets. Making their appearance after midnight or early in the morning, the stall keepers offered coffee, tea and cocoa, kept warm in brightly polished tin cans. Also served were sandwiches and cakes, which they made themselves. #58571
