The reels work great even though you can’t store the longer strings of lights as easily.

this reel is too small for the lights people use today. It’s ok in a pintch, but the 4 reel is better. Lights take up room when reeled in so the smaller reel is not for someone that uses a lot of lights

This storage reel set is an excellent way to keep lights from tangling and being damaged. Each reel does not hold as many lights as they say they will – or maybe I’m just not rolling them tight enough! I suggest you figure out how many you think you need and buy an extra one. I have this smaller set and a larger set that holds my outdoor lights. I prefer the larger reels, but I’ve had trouble finding another set of them. Over all, I recommend this.

I bought this item last year to store our outdoor mini christmas lights, its perfect! the reels were easy to roll lights onto and fit in the case perfectly. I’m not sure what size the strands were but I know one of the 3 strands had 500 mini lights on it. the case is really sturdy and seems like it will hold up over time. My husband liked it so much that he had me order another one for our indoor mini lights.
