I just watched "A Christmas Story" and was very disturbed by it. It takes place in the 1940s (I think), but it's not like "Miracle on 34th Street", which was made in the 1940s. There is much violence in this film (hitting, kicking, hitting), and worst of all insults. The boy in the film is a fantasy to get an air rifle and kill rogue. In this era of armed violence is the last thing children or adults need to see. I do not recommend this film to others. And if this film is about Christmas, of course, I could not say.

I have this star, because there is no "0" rating. Many people encouraged me to see them. . . . . . . this. . . . . . Thing, so last year I've tried. I wondered why everyone loved him so much. It was absolutely horrible. I forced myself to finish the film: 1) I had hoped it would be better and 2) get all said it was great. If you have not seen yet, allow me to say that this is not great. It's boring, stupid, immature and a waste of time.

Bob Clark, "A Christmas Story" is a cinematic slice of America. She tells of a time gone by when there was an air rifle, the current dream of all young children and say the word wrong would be to organize a meeting between your mouth and a piece of soap. Young Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) yearns for a Daisy Red Ryder 200-shot action rifle BB gun and did not conceal that he wants for Christmas. However, each city, northern Indiana, warned that he opened his eyes again, if his wish is granted. Ralphie stubbornly refuses to waver, and she hoped against hope that his wish will be fulfilled if the navigation around the problems in his life – a tyrant of the school, a brother of his snow suit, an aunt who thinks he has crossed a daughter, a visit to Santa Claus dangerous to store, put a tongue to a frozen lamp and a decoder ring to decipher a message without interest. There's really nothing that distinguishes "A Christmas Story" from the run-of-the-mill seasonal production made for television Christmas. The feeling of nostalgia that the film has generated, is basically his only notable aspect. The jokes are frequent and the characters are generic functions that you would find in a modern Christmas story is typical. Darren McGavin and Melinda Dillon as the fun parent and Ralphie Billingsley had a short time as a young Ralphie, but the performance is not specific enough to bring the material. "A Christmas Story" has an excellent work of the new at a particular time and place. However, it is not much more. In the area with big screen Christmas "A Christmas Story" place somewhere in the middle of the pack.

I think this DVD should not be a part of Christmas, it should perhaps be appropriate at Halloween. I understand that this is how a man recalls his childhood, but I want my husband's family has never shown this film to my children. They are not permanently damaged by this movie, but it must be labeled so twisted.

Then I saw this movie some time ago, when he was still in theaters. The other children I have to agree with me was at the time the film is a sort of weird, and we should not leave our parents to choose the film we saw times in the cineplex. So now Christmas Story has a certain nostalgia / retro, what is going on, and we get all these rave reviews. Here's why I do not quite understand: First, that we get godawful "Kevin Arnold" voice-off of the main character. Write Somebody Hollywood and tell them to give this story "technique alone. Most other characters are "broadly played," so that one never sure if we look at a piece of life movie, or just a joke. BB guns are loved by many young people of my generation, but we all knew that they could hurt us (and others), and concerns about injuries were real and not playing something that you try, usually for fun. "Put your eyes. What a knee slapper! Well, you get to crawl "out" extended joke about the thighs "mesh" tube. This article is in bad taste now by e-mail if you want one of these horrible things in your house. Meanwhile, some kid is sticking his tongue while licking a pole in frost, Ralphie must wear a rabbit pajamas and health visitors to leave with a giant slide (what were the writers smoking?). Towards the end there is something about the dogs in the kitchen and ruin, if Turkey is leaving the family for Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant where the staff cooked the head of a goose removed because the father said: "We smiled." My guess is that many parents this film rent during the holidays, because the word-of-mouth marketing through its small fan base. When they realize how strange sense of humor and the film, they say nothing. There are probably only a few "repeat" the tenants, but each Christmas season a few people the same chance. This may be why the film remains a holiday classic favorite.
